SLK55 spotted in Los Angeles

So, I was at my dealer b/c of what the did to my car... https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/86542-my-lovely-experience-dealer-today.html

But, as I was walking through the lot I saw a SLK55 AMG. It was right next to a fully loaded SLK350. The SLK55 was ~$64k (w/o command), the SLK350 had everything and was ~$59k. Why would you buy a fully loaded 350 when you can go all out and get the AMG for only $5k more?

Here's a pic of the car. Just beautiful!

2005 MB SLK 55 AMG
Very cool !
Though I personally wouldn't want the 350 OR the 55 NOT fully loaded - so I think this might be a valid consideration for a lot of people. If you are prepared to spend the money the (base) 55 costs, you most likely want most if not all extras. I wouldn't get eihter without the command (320)....
ANyway, very cool. DOes it look like they are trying to sell above sticker ?

Gauging from the 'barebones' config, and that it's on the lot and not sold, I would imagine, this is one of the dozen or so West Coast 'Bonus Cars' that MB sent to dealers for a job well done (they are not gifts mind you - the dealer still has to pay for them :-) ). I.e. they are not customer-ordered.

I don't know if they're trying to charge above sticker. But I do know that this dealer doesn't really charge over sticker for things, they have quite a few SL55's, E55's, and CLK55's on the lot as well (no C55's though which is weird).

"Bonus Cars" eh? That's probably why the survey was so important to them... Interesting...

It's beautiful! That's almost exactly what mine will look like, except I got the 2 tone black/gray package. Thanks!
