Shift Buttons on steering wheel

Does anyone else accidentally hit the downshift button? I've only had my SLK55 for ten days and I'm doing this at least once or twice a day. Don't get me wrong, I love driving this car, but there should be a way to deactivate these buttons when you just want the automatic. Also does anyone know how to stop all this rain in California so I can drive with top down?

I sure have many of times. Looks like we'll just have to adjust. That's what I'll practice the most during my 1k break in rather than going to fast
