The evolution of a R172 350
To add a thread into this apparent moribund sub forum, here is an evolution of my 2013 SLK350, purchased CPO in Jan 2017, with 1900 miles.
Day-1: arrived home from a 475-mile drive to pickup from MB of Tyson’s Corner, VA to my home in MA (Jan 2017)
Day 30: Feb 2017
Day 60: March 2017
Day 90: April 2017 (photo shoot at the beach)
Lets recap the modification so far - new 19” rims, red-painted calipers, new quad exhaust system (Fox Sports), +++ some not so obvious mods 😁👌✌️

Day 370: Jan 2018 - switched to 5-spoke 19” rims (going to be a recurring theme throughout this journey 😁
Day 600: Nov 2018 - new diamond grill, lighted grille MB logo
Day 800: Sept 2020 - new 7-spoke SLS AMG rims, new Panamericana AMG grille, painted front splitter, side gills, and window frame
Hung out with fellow SLk owners at a mini-meet in Rhode Island… was fun riding with a couple SLK55 AMGs
Day 600: Nov 2018 - new diamond grill, lighted grille MB logo

2021 - moving out of MA to MD, and took a couple close out pics of the car and our (now sold) house in foreground…
July 2021 - Day-1 arriving at its new (not ready to move in) home in MD
2024 - Now riding on its fourth set of rims - 19” S580 rims

Car has 120K miles, has zero mechanical, electrical, tranny, suspension or whatever issues… not a scratch on the body, drives like brand new, sounds glorious with the Fox sports exhaust system, and is a car that will be with me till I die or it dies… you will have to pry the keys off my cold dead fingers…
