Did anybody even bother to click the link from the original post in this thread? It gives an explanation of why he did it and the pictures he posted have more angles of the car and the car is in a different spot. Why would somebody take that much time to photoshop the car in different locations? Although this line really cracked me up
What, does he think the SLK55 isn't a RWD car?
told me got the engine and put it in himself and changed the transmission, and it's a RWD

That fitting is for real. There's supposedly a video of it somewhere too (haven't seen it), but I've seen the SLR engine in person, and the one inside this SLK is identical, minus the airbox on the front (which draws air from the start at the tip of the nose).
And the only 'hotoshopping' you'll see in those pics, is resizing. There's no 'obvious' photoshopping image granulation or modification around the edges of the 'cutouts'. The SLK hood is quite thin. If you cut out a chunk of it, at the resolution that these pictures are at, it will look paper thin (when in fact it is only a few millimeters thin). the difference being that in this SLK, they've removed the fire retardant cover which is usually attached to the hood.
Get over it you disbelievers, jeez man.

the AMG engeneers have had a lot of problems to fit the 5,5 V8 into the small SLK. I can't imagine that a big engine like the SLR-one's(you should see it in real life) would fit in this car. But who knows? Those crazy rich arabians have enough money to make it possible.

The trouble u think of that the SLR engine cant fit in because of the air-intake of it.. they didnt puth the whole SLR engine.. They took off the air-intake and then fixed it.. If you look closer u will see that its an SLR engine, although it looks different because u have seen the SLR pics on the internet with the huge red colored intake.. you dont see it on the SLK..

So if this **** is real, how in the world did they manage to get a 5 Speed transmission into a chasis that was designed to fit the 7 G-Tronic transmission? Am I the only asking this question still?
Also if this guy has this much money why can't he get a real hood without any holes in it???![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
If this crap is for real, does that make it the worlds fastest car then? I am guessing 240+ mph????

Is there only 1 car in the world that has had this modification?
If so, did they install 2 separate hoods? It seems to me from looking at both sets of pictures that the "holes" in the hood are significantly different in size from one set of pictures to the other.
Not baiting anyone, just looking for an explanation.

Also, the older pictures only showed the hood without any protective rubber around the edges. Later on they added the rubber tubing around the edges, but this might have requires a little extra dremel work as the tubing might have been at close contact with the engine.
btw: nice cars you've got there *thumbs up*
