How many people here own an SLR
I am a newbie here & would like to know what you owners have to say about the SLR. I am thinking about buying an 2006 silver & red that the dealer has here in New York.
Are they worth the money and will they hold there value down the road

Unbelievable car, EXCEPT the brake squeal. We don't really mind the lack of touch the brakes have, because they do work exceptionally well (how often do you really get to let it all hang out with this car?). Just wear earplugs when you drive it! The slower you go, the worse it is. Creeping up to a stop is simply murder! It's worse when there's low humidity.
I've got to believe MB is working on a solution, though. In the long run, they'll get a big black eye if this continues.
Make sure you get to sit in it before you close the deal. The seats are ordered 'to fit', and if it's on the showroom floor, it isn't necessarily sized to fit your butt! We have the 2nd largest seats, and I kind of squeeze in the seat. My wife fits just fine, though.

Three seat sizes, and most of the cars which came as 'awards' from MBZ to US dealers (not customer ordered) came with the second-largest or largest seat. I'd recommend going with the largest seat.....
