Looks like the same New York ebay seller who "sells" SL's he doesn't have in inventory for lower prices than ones which he mentions having in stock at higher prices. Wonder if Ebay appreciates being used to generate showroom traffic since the real sales appear to be made outside of ebay. In any event sounds like a good way to build up a customer list for the seller. (Note all bidders are required to send their name and address - and probably will then be asked to submit to a credit check as well!)
Oh,by the way, if you want a Maybach next March he can get you one of those too with right to purchase starting at $50,000 over list. Various other models not yet in stock (such as the CLK500 and 2003 E Class) are also for "sale" with others in stock that appear to be ready for earlier delivery outside of ebay again.
This guy sounds like a super salesman and his aggresive/ creative sales tactics probably explain why he became a "big dealer."
