It's "3 models" not just 3 cars. The adhesive used to secure the window in the frame was not mixed with the "activator." Mercedes will remove the existing windshield, clean it and then reinstall it with the proper adhesive.
Keep in mind that the 2005/06 McLaren was recalled because an electrical fault could result in an engine compartment fire.

You're right, some reports state models, but it does appear to be possibly there were only 3 cars in the U.S. (no jurisdiction over other parts of the world) for SLRs built between Sept 06 and October o7 . . . which would lead one to wonder . . . is that all that were shipped to the US?
