That is impossible as the base MSRP for the car with no options, GG tax or Transportation is $450,000. I would say that the number you are speaking of is the amount over MSRP they are asking.

$450K car with no COMMAND? and comes with ok a CD changer....and a ****ty cassette deck? Hello???? what the hell is MB thinking? Someone who can afford this car will walk into a store and buy CASSETTES??? IDIOTS!

many
instrument cluster , HVAC, trans, diff., braking system, radio system, body electronics are same with software mod for SLR, air brake controled is also regular MB part with software mod. There few parts that were made just for SLR - Engine, suspension parts, body.

How is the braking system same on the SLR and R230. The SLR has Ceramic pads and rotors with some sort of technology to keep the rotors dry as well as the pad. The transmission is a beefed up 5 SPD AMG transmission.

This is same trans like in normal AMG with different software for faster shifts.
Nothing special.

I beg to differ. The SLR's braking system is designed to keep the rotor dry at all times. The SL does not do this. Perhaps someone with a more techincal explanation can join this thread.
