Price of the SLR
According to the June issue of Mercedes Enthusiast, the SLR is going to cost around 250,000 pound and could be on sale early next year.
The 5.5 twin turbochargers is going to produce 58obhp and 590lb/ft of torue.

When the SLR was first mentioned, it was mentioned by the UK press at being around £170k pounds and aimed at being a Ferrari 550 competitor.
I put my name down to see what happened with my dealer, who then passed my details onto MB UK since MB UK were co-ordinating the SLR lists country wide.
About a year ago (or maybee more) MB UK wrote, saying
(a) Its going to be 250k pounds
(b) Its not going to be right-hand-drive
(c) They wanted 25k pounds deposit ..
I wrote a nice letter saying for 250k I can buy a SL and a Ferrari 360 and another AMG car for the same ... and they will all be right-hand-drive
A little bit of me wishes that I could have afforded it and paid the deposit :-)
But i'll be dead happy with my SL55 due in a few weeks time.
