3 BS are listed on ebay, including the sunbeam yellow. Gonna be interesting to see how low regular SLS prices will drop. I'm definitely looking to pick one up, seeing that i've decided to stick with the motif of collecting-cars-with-****ed-up-doors.

BS at 50% off MSRP is such a bargain.

I like Carac's photos.. and agree that the SLR was (seemingly to me) way over-priced. The SLS felt like a bargain, relatively. But I would not own one if it wasn't priced as it was.

I've been monitoring clearbook dot truecar dot com for the value of a 2011 SLS coupe. They supposedly use real sales data. Roughly these are the "average" sale prices from their data. I might be a little off on exact dates/amounts:

Dec 2012: $155K
June 2013: $148K
August 2013: $143K
October 2013: $144K
December 2013: $144.5 K
January 2013: $138K

So the average price stabilized and went slightly up from mid-to-end 2013. But the latest update shows a large drop.

Looks like the prices have somewhat stabilized now.

I wonder how much lower a 2011 will go, especially given that most of them should be out of warranty in a year.

I'm going to revise that, there are a few on the market that are going out of warranty in months.

I'm not sure if that should affect pricing. I also am not sure how much an extended warranty would cost.

What seems to be the going rate this summer? I feel prices have been slightly inflated but the cars are still sitting at dealerships. I'm guessing if they don't sell I could negotiate further during the winter time? I see a couple that have been sitting for 100+ days unsold.

Deciding between sls gullwing and r8 spyder.

OEM Extended warranty for mine when I bought it new was $4800 to bring it to 7 years, 100k miles. The official Mercedes extended warranty is somewhere around $6k if you buy it after the original sale. The only issue I've heard about is one or two transmissions replaced under warranty for clutch pack failures (the same transmission in the 458 get replaced MUCH more often due to software differences) and you just have to buy a whole new trans for $20k since they aren't dealer serviceable. So unless the clutch is going bad on the car, they seem to be fairly bulletproof otherwise. I'm up to 30k miles and no issues at all.

I still stand by my statement that we'll never see "good" SLS's go for less than $100k. There might be a few salvage/lemon titled cars or ragged out examples that go for less (I know of a lemon titled example that had an irremovable cigar stench that when for somewhere in the low $100s a year back or so) , but the majority are in the hands of people that love them and take care of them. They only ended up selling around 2700 in the US so the market isn't going to be flooded the way it is with SL's. And I don't think the AMG GT is getting a lot of owners to "trade down" (in terms of price and spectacle, not necessarily performance.) The 300SL market has also helped with deprecation in my opinion.

Basically, if you want to buy a good, taken care of SLS, I don't think there will be a better time than now. Especially on the early cars.

This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

They are coming back off lease and such and, are now going to a handful of real enthusiasts in the US. Figure a few hundred have been wrecked/abused/over modified so, the real US number is closer to 2500 real quality ones. This is the first and last NA fully AMG engineered low volume car. The GT as nice as it is, is going to be mass produced, flooded market car. The SLS has the "Panache" no other Benz has or, maybe will ever have again. Get um while you can....

Depreciation has stopped. Very well maintained low mileage cars still continue to sell fairly quickly. Smart collectors are now sitting on the sidelines waiting for the right SLS to come along and take advantage of the depreciated value. If the car has most available options, is well maintained and has low miles it sells fast.

Here in Canada, I have been toying with the idea of selling my SLS. I have my eye on a Ferrari f12 and have been offered on a trade for the F12 $180k for my car. I think that is an amazing deal. I am not totally prepared to buy the F12 now but when I was offered this much for my car, it leaves me scratching my head. The dealer says that the SLS is not a problem to unload at all even for what he is prepared to pay me for it. So basically, I am at an impass, should I do this now, or if I wait will the SLS resale get stronger in the spring??

It sure is rare to see such recent model year production vehicles already appreciating. It will be interesting to see what happens to values over the next 6 months.

I agree especially if you consider the trade difference offsetting any Taxes.

And then I watched this

This is where I am left scratching my head. I am leaning towards holding on and enjoying the SLS for the rest of this summer and fall, then see what happens in the spring. I know I will miss this incredible power plant. ...there is no substitute for this car. On another note, I drove the new AMG GTS, there is no way that car would satisfy me in regards to what I am used to with the SLS engine wise.

we finally had a 2012 SLS with 13 or 14k miles on the clock, sold for $128.000 at Nashville MB dealer, I was a day short of getting the news, by the time I contact the dealer, I been told that it was sold internally, an employee bought it...

Avg Price on seven 2011 SLS AMG Coupes on this date at AutoTrader.com

AVG Price on eighteen 2012 SLS AMG Roadsters on this date on AutoTrader.com

AVG Price on 13 2012 SLS AMG Coupes on this date at AutoTrader.com

I didn't use Cars.com because they don't have as many listings as AutoTrader.com. Cars.com reflects a much higher average price. Of course these are "asking" prices but, when you deal in this price range people can stick to their guns on pricing. Not a lot of rush to sell.

These are in the US Market. Would like to see how other markets globally are doing!? > http://left-lane.com/european-sales-...-car-segments/ & http://left-lane.com/european-sales-...-car-segments/ & http://left-lane.com/european-car-sa...-benz-sls-amg/
