SLS/R197/C197 AMG: SLS Wheel Trade/Upgrade offer
#1
SLS Wheel Trade/Upgrade offer
My boss has a 2011 SLS with the upgraded 10-spoke AMG wheel flawlessly finished in matte black (see attached photo, more available upon request). For 2012 SLS models Mercedes offers this (and only this) wheel in matte black for a $1000 surcharge (on top of the $2400 surcharge from the standard wheel).
The owner prefers the standard 5-spoke design and is looking for another SLS owner interested in an even trade despite the popularity and extra expense associated with the 10-spoke upgraded wheel (he will be painting the original 5-spoke wheels black so if they've already been painted its certainly not a problem).
There are no flaws with the wheels and the tires have 3,000 miles. If a set is made available that has significantly fewer (or more) miles, the tires can be switched at the MB dealership closest to the SLS owner interested in the trade.
The wheels being offered are similar to the one-off 'blackbird' displayed at the Australian International Auto Show: there is no 'polished lip' as on the OEM optional 2012 wheels...a plus for anyone going for the blacked-out look and arguably more attractive; nonetheless this is mentioned (along with attached images) so there's no misunderstanding. Car is in Florida but the wheels can be shipped to any authorized MB dealership in the US to inspect the wheels before yours are shipped and to ensure the transaction goes smoothly.
