So, here i go, coming from a BMW M, but just couldn't resist on how the SLS looks, sounds.
so if everything goes smoothly i will purchase an alu-beam 2011 SLS AMG, with only 1000km on it.
i would like to know does the running in period that ends in 1500km require an oil change? and also what oil needed to be changed?
i'am new to mercedes, are there any advice on things i should check and look for?
thank you very much,

Since there are no responses from other SLS owners, if it were me, i would change the engine oil and maybe the tranny fluid w/ filter no matter what the recommended service interval was after the break-in period.

yes, the paint is astonishing, the other day i spot a silver SLS sorry to say but it makes the SLS looks so flat.

The oil should have been changed already even with just 1000km on it simply based on age/time alone. I would never go three years without an oil change regardless of miles. If you are buying from dealer make them throw in an oil and trans fluid change, I would change both hose fluids on a three year old car regardless of miles.

Everything you will need will be in the owners manual. With oil just use the recommended oil and weight from the brand of your choice. With the trans fluid use only the MB trans fluid, we recently discovered that using other brands in high hp application and pushing the car hard causes slight slipping of the clutch packs.Originally Posted by jason.kariatun
