Media interface problem with 2013 SLS GT
Hello everyone. Been trying to connect my iPhone 5 to the media interface portion of Comand. I used a 30pin to lightning adapter from apple to connect the iPhone 5. All Comand says is "device incompatible". I also tried connecting an old iPod as well as an iphone4 to the media interface cable. Every time I get the same error of "device incompatible." Any ideas on how to solve this? My dealer is not helpful.
I also have a whine sound on the analog audio aux input. Audio aux input is part of my media interface cable. It's quite bad.
Maybe I have a bad media interface cable? Maybe I have bad wiring between the Comand/audio unit and the socket that the media interface cable goes into?

Ok, I found a solution that works. I bought a Tune2Air Bluetooth module that attaches to a 30 pin connector. I then attached it to a media interface cable that only has a 30 pin connector. This cable is xtenzi 1.2 meter iPod mercedes media interface cable sold for $30 on amazon. Now my iPhone 5s attaches to the my 2013 GT Comand media interface and you can control the iPhone also from the steering wheel while getting full song information on the Comand screen.
