SLS AMG New Standing 800 Meters Record 160mph
I attended the Qatar Mile Event last weekend at the Alkhor Airfield. They call it "Qatar Mile", but its actually a 1/2 mile event organized by QRC (Qatar Racing club). They just started it last year. Next Year it will actully be the full mile (1600 meters), just like in Moscow unlim 500+.
This is a standing 800meters event and not a Roll On event.

I was contender number 35
I went on Saturday and got 4 runs. I removed the rear wing the first two runs thinking it would have been better, but I put it back later and my last two runs were better than the first two.
I got 246.8, 244.5, 251.9, 254.81 km/hr
My best run was 254.81 ~ 160mph. We were ready to take the 5th run, where I raised my tire pressure and the weather was cooler but they had to close the airstrip. I was pretty confident I would trap close to 260 km/hr.

I have the fastest overall M159/M156 Naturally Asspirated standing 800 meters trap speed record and the second overall AMG record with the first belonging to ALPHA Performance E63 upgraded bi-turbo that went 164.5mph. The fastest car on that day was QRC's own Modified GTR that went 324 km/hr in 800 meters, yes its crazy FAST!
Mods on my car were:
- PP-Performance Custom Dyno Tune
- Supersprint Full Racing Exhust
- BMC Air Filters
I was on pump gas and Pump tune with the heavy Michelin Pilot super sports. The next event in March I will come out with a race tune/gas and will equip some Pirelli Corsa tires and hopefully do better. I'll keep you all posted

Take it out on the freeway. You will love the way it picks up speed on 5th gear. Truly orgasmic
