AMG performance media
Does anyone know the proper way to turn on the amg performance media? Sometimes when I press the amg button it will come on and sometimes it won't. Not sure how to make it work every time...or if mine has an issue that needs to be addressed. Also while I'm on this, does anyone know how to upload track maps? I have found nothing in the manual to address these and my dealer and all the techs don't know how to use it.

Did you figure it out? I haven't even had the time to play with it yet. When I scroll left/right on the steering wheel I don't even see the AMG option? Help!

It's an option so your car may or may not have it. If you do have it, it's supposed to come on once you press the AMG button on the center console. Sometimes it may take a few minutes for it to load if you try to turn it on when you first turn the car on. However, mines been having issues turning on even after the car has been on for awhile. I took it in to my MB dealer and they said if there's an update they'll have to charge me for it...thought that was ridiculous because it's not functioning properly. Amg info from private lounge directed me to email MB but they gave me MB corporate in New Zealand or some random country. It's supposed to look like this once it comes on

I definitely have it. It was a big reason for me to get the car I did. I think it will be a very, very, rare option on the Roadsters. It did pop on when I hit the AMG button. But... on the steering wheel if you hit the < > it is supposed to scroll Navi Audio ect but I don't see the AMG pop up like it shows on page 160 of the manual. Do you see that on your car?

Very helpful video but still cannot find out how to upload tracks. I've mapped a track through the function but your supposed to drive slow around the track...which can be difficult if other drivers are on.

http://www.noser.com/images/content/...17_English.pdf I wrote this company to see if we could get better clarification on if race tracks load automatically.
I found this online there has got to be a way the system picks up the tracks automatically.

I've been searching for that answer for awhile. The SLS tech was "supposed" to research this for me but I haven't heard back in over a month. Might be that time to go back in and keep bugging them.

I am in for service A1 today. I have asked them to see if there have been any updated software available for this AMG system ( I also asked for the transmission update).

Keep me updated. If they say there's nothing for the transmission, say the downshifts are lagging and it won't accept multiple downshifts. For some reason, once you say that they'll look somewhere else and there will magically be a update.

I hoping to talk to somebody about the AMG media/how to use today when I go back to pick it up.

I received the car back from the dealership. There are no new AMG Performance Media software updates.

I was not able to get any info out of the dealership. Just recommended to go to the Private Lounge (which I haven't signed up for yet) or contact http://www.mercedes-amg.com/driving-...a.php?lang=eng

I thought I had the same problem today. It wouldn't go into the Media mode and, this thread came to mind. I found that If you press and let go quickly the Media comes on. If you hold it in the the programmed AMG transmission and suspension settings kick in. Is this what is happening to yours?

A breakdown of the features I found on this option..
In an unprecedented way, this racing-inspired system combines numerous telemetric displays such as engine data, lateral and linear acceleration and lap times on a racetrack. AMG Performance Media is activated by pressing the AMG key in the AMG DRIVE UNIT, and operated using the COMAND Controller. Key functions at a glance:
Real-time display of engine oil, coolant and transmission fluid temperature
Real-time display of engine output, torque and accelerator position
Real-time display of individual tire pressures
Real-time display of acceleration time from 0-60 mph or 0-100 km/h (alternatively: quarter-mile)
Real-time display of lateral and linear acceleration combined with braking performance and accelerator position, including memory function
Recording of individual lap times on a closed racetrack, with sector times and memory function
Integration of DRIVE UNIT functions to save setup data to memory and initiate RACE START
The different functions of AMG Performance Media are shown by the color display integrated into the dashboard. Three displays are shown at any one time, with the most important information positioned in the center. Digitally simulated dial instruments with red needles ensure outstanding legibility.
