Qs from maybe new SLS owner

Greetings All,
First post as I'm gathering as much info as I can pre purchase. At this point I am gravitating to a 2012 SLS Roadster with low miles. I don't plan to use it as daily driver but I want to try to use it as much as I can. Two issues I can't get a good handle on:
  1. What is the road noise like with top up say highway cruising 75-85 mph. Florida summers are hot!
  2. With the suspension in "comfort mode" is the ride punishing? I can live with firm but firm and hard probably not. Whatever sport mode brings is fine. The particular cars i have seen do not have the adjustable suspension option.
Other cars I'm considering: 2014 Ferrari Cali or 2015 Cali T, 2019 leftover F-type R. I'm cooling off on the "R". Cali I'm not sure I'd drive it enough, they do catch a lot of attention. Comments relative to these options welcome.

Thanks for your comments and Happy Thanksgiving!

SLS AMG
Hi
Wind is wind above 70mph. At least with the SLS you can still hear the motor 😁. I have the tri-setting suspension. That is a tough question to answer as everyone's butt/back is calibrated differently. I came from driving Vipers for 20 years so yes, the SLS is a bit softer than that... I did get a Roadster over the Gullwing as I couldn't see myself when I am 70+ trying to crawl out of the Coupe... Go for it!

I also chose the Roadster. I came to the SLS after 31 years of 300SL ownership. There is no doubt that when parked on a show field , or in front of a restaurant , a GW with the doors up creates a spectacular presence. I find the Roadster a more versatile & comfortable driver. I have had my RO up to 140 MPH with top down & windows up. All was magnificent! With soft top up & windows up all was tightly sealed at 110 MPH. My automatic soft top has been flawless so far. I my 300SL days , when I wanted the feel or look of a coupe, I would put the HT on. The B & O stereo can be heard perfectly at 100 MPH + with top & windows down in the SLS. Air scarf is nice with top down in cooler weather. Both GW & RO versions of SLS paper to me to perform equally. You have fun choice to make!

@NewportSLS and @Last300SL thanks so much for the feedback. ~2012 SLS RO price point with low miles I'm finding $130-$150k. That brings into play AMG GT RO '18 or even '19 although find with more miles. I have driven the AMG GT. NIce, good ride, pretty small. Haven't gotten into the seat of an SLS yet. Hard to find one in my backyard.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Transmission Settings

I have found that I use the C setting most of the time. It works in the city & for high speed touring. Sports or Sports Plus are used in rallies or when I want to show off what it can do. My track days are behind me. I find the C setting firm yet comfortable. Handling is excellent. Car I drive most frequently is 2017 S63 AMG Cabriolet Edition 130. It is roomier, quieter, more comfortable, very fast, yet not as much fun. Very similar color combination with more subdued red leather & soft top. Alubeam Silver paint is the same on each. I have driven it 20,000 trouble free miles. The all wheel drive allows it to handle very well. It replaced my 1971 280 SE Cabriolet. I appear to appreciate creature comforts more with age.
