SLS/R197/C197 AMG: DCT CEL Transmission Pressure Implausible
I have a 2012 roadster and got a CEL that said "transmission pressure implausible". The car then went into limp mode, I was still able to change gears. If I turned off the car for a while and came back the fault would clear then reestablish after say 20 minutes of driving. Mercedes has said the only fix is to replace the whole DCT.
Has anyone got any experience or thoughts or advice with this.
Thanks in advance, John

Still waiting for the fluid work. The dealer didn't even have the fluid and had to order it in. Maybe that is why they were so reluctant. I think the fluid comes in 20 gallon drums. Speculating they didn't want to be left with the balance.
I got the fluid report back, it was fine ie no contaminants. But I struggled to get MB to do the fluid change so went to a Ferrari dealer to do that. The difference between the two dealer approaches was like night and day.
The fluid change did not fix the issue.
I tracked down an indie who has worked on these boxes. On its review of the issue they have found it may not be a transmission issue at all. What it has found is there is a serious manifold intake leak on the left back. How did they do this? They thought they could hear a leak so checked the lambda 02 and majico! left bank screwed. The graphs showed it very clearly. They suspect that this is then screwing with the sensor references.
So first thing is replace the manifold, noting MB has replaced the original part number with an new part number as the part was changed. 10 week order timeframe apparently for the part.
If this is the problem this will be a revelation as MB wanted me to replace the whole transmission for circa US$17T and if this is the issue that wouldn't have done anything. The indie hasn't guaranteed that this is the issue btw just highly suspects it. The manifold needs to be fixed anyway. That is still going to be USD$6T.
Will update after the replacement.
So finally getting to the bottom of this. And I hope Mercedes see this. Pressure plate is no good after 23 T km( that is when the fault first emerged). New gearbox required. Intake manifold bent. New manifold required. Don't ever buy this car. Just go and buy a Ferrari. I never had issues like this with those. What a loser of car.

SLS and Ferrari California have the same box. Hopefully these are few and far between...
Actually I have same problem with GTs mb.
I check everything in engine; turbos, pipes, hoses, intercoolers, I didn't remove the intake manifold coz it's looks good I check it only from intercoolers side.
This really broke my head.
What can I do really I don't know.
