The exhaust is installed. Sound with the valves closed is actually a little more quiet than the stock exhaust and no drone. With the valves open it really comes alive and sounds fantastic, again with no drone. Definitely louder than stock but not obnoxious. The deceleration pops that we all love are louder and more pronounced, and when manually upshifting, which I always do, is just intoxicating as you bang through the gears. I have always added an aftermarket exhaust to all my previous cars so I may be in the minority, but this was well worth the price of admission.
