SLS/R197/C197 AMG: SLS Hood in Service Position

Current model MB hoods push up, and pull down, from service position without a latch or button. There is a quasi-detent in the gas support struts. Please post well-lit and focused photos of the two hood hinges.

Thanks for the information. I was able to figure it out, since there was no release button, the only possible way to close it is to pull it down. It does require some force to pull it down, so initially I was reluctant to force it down. It worked out fine.

@fastcompany You also need to check the under hood gasket is in the proper place once pulled down. Hard to describe.. but it will get hung up by the corners of the hood by the windshield
