SLS/R197/C197 AMG: What to look for when buying an SLS
I am buying an 2012 sls that has around 2500km , can I please get feedback what areas to inspect when buying something of such low mileage ? - lastly what should be the price of such a car in Iridium Siliver ? . Lastly , are Japanese spec cars having higher value versus US or EU spec cars ? Thanks !!

Take a look at the where on the tires and the date codes. If you have a paint meter, use it otherwise they're less than $100 and worth the .05% cost of purchasing one of these cars. Then take a look at the seats most specifically the driver side entry bolster. Look at the the front underside corners to see if the car was scraped over a curb or a steep driveway since these cars do not have front lift. Look underneath the car to see if there is any fluid on the ground specifically under the engine and under the rear transaxle. Look at the front bumper area to see if it is pitted with road rash because that could indicate that the odometer was tampered with. A car with only 2500 km should be impeccable. Pay for the car to have a PDI done at a reputable Mercedes dealership.
As far as options go, the big ticket items our coupe or convertible, designo interior, carbon ceramic brakes and carbon fiber engine bay panels. The 10 spoke wheels, carbon fiber interior bits, and the Burmeister stereo are nice options as well.
I'm probably only scratching the surface here but I'm sure others who are more knowledgeable about the cars will weigh in.
Hope it works out well for you.
