SLS vs. Gallardo LP570 Superleggera, which would u choose & why?
Both offer similar horsepower: Lambo is 570 HP and SLS is 571, the lambo weighs alot less and has AWD, but the Benz has more torque and themes of retro about it.. the Lambo is unabashedly razor-like in its looks...which would you guys choose and why? Both are amazing cars ofcourse....
Also, don't forget the new Ferrari 458 Italia and McLaren also....

Know several guys w/SLS on-order who are also getting Fiat 458s (and have gotten any latest/greatest AMGs or Fiats for yrs)
Fiat has zero safety engineering or competence but often has interesting chassis dynamics to sample (in small doses when one feels like risking one's health)
VW-Lambo never figured out basics like tq, e-gear, brake pedal feel, safety engineering (fuel tank crashworthiness, etc) etc etc....PerfCar 101 stuff....market (VW's lack of repeat buyers or pricing power) speaks for itself
VW-Porsche could have an interesting car w/997GT2 v2.0...but has a Luddite gearbox from the StoneAge....and an exhaust note that's PriusTurbo-like, w/awful turbo lag
Clear lack of smart or innovative engineers at VW (or Fiat) these days...
SLS' Achilles' heels will likely be its dubious ground clearance for daily commuting duty...and lack of tq for those addicted to 65 tq

Anyway...to answer the question posed...the LP570 Superleggera would be my choice. It has outstanding power and handling ability all in an aggressive/appealing package. I am not in love with the SLS's design. The engine is kind of a let down...especially with the V8TT engine coming in the near future.

2004 S55 ///AMG, 2007 E350
Both are fine cars of course. SLS is new and is the pinnacle of MB/AMG line while Gallardo is the lower one of the two models they currently sell and has been around for years now. A more fair comparison might be the SLS vs. Murcielago.
The 458 Italia is simply gorgeous and gets my vote.

I have an SLS on order and never consider the Lambo as it's really limited in it's utility. AMG's are pretty stout and can hold up to track abuse and keep their warrantee where the Audi based cars are a limited, I'm sure someone will tell me that they track their Lambo all the time and have no problems, most likely a teenager with a keyboard in the basement.
At least you can get two golf bags in the SLS. That said, I'm thinking of canceling my order since AMG has announced that it's going to start offering a 5.5 turbo with monster torque as the newest engine variant. I really hoped I would be getting the newest technology but I plan on keeping my Black Series and another 6.3 would be redundant. redundant

Is there is big charge when you cancel your order on a new car? How mad does the dealership become when you do that? We always buy the car off showroom and never botherd ordering.

The one things dealers hate is being a early order purchaser of a popular model and flipping it. You may do it once, but never twice at my dealer. My deposit is fully refundable, and he knows I'll be buying something.

LP570 is the clear winner in terms of both styling and performance. Considering that even the "regular" LP560 beat everything in the most recent R&T track test (including 997 GT2, Z06, GT-R, even Viper ACR), the performance of the LP570 Superlagerra will be on a completely different level than even the SLS Black Series. As far as the Ferrari 458 Italia, it will realistically be nearly twice the price of SLS unless you're been on the waiting list for the last 2 years or want to wait several years to buy used.
P.S. This is the comparison I was referring to:

Although a World Fanatic I would choose the Lambo, not fond of the SLS.
Personally I luv old cell phones, that still can be connected of course!
Couldn't get in the Lambo though.

It's all a matter of personal choice,it is impossible to decide which is "better" since each has some characteristics exclusive to that particular car only, that the others don't have.
For all practical reasons, they all are also in the same price bracket (if you can afford one of them you can also afford the others,if not ,you have no business buying even the lowest priced one),including the Ferrari (expected base price about $240k,with options $260k) which will see it's premiums disapearing after initial excitement and in time for the Mclaren's arrival.
Of course ,for some, they are all POS comparing to the Veyron vanquishing CL65.......

We have a few on order, but the first is not schedule to be produced until the 3rd decade of May. They are saying that dealers with multiple orders may only see 1 or 2 this year.

The funny thing is that to "some" the W216 CL65 is inferior to the CL63 030:

But I KNOW you knew that "some" said that...

No indication as the dealers haven't got pricing yet. West Coast is at the end of the supply line, but my dealer will have a good allocation. I guessing order in April, confirm in May, delievery in July.

Yeah...
Since the regular LP560 coupe got a zero to 60 MPH run in 3.2 seconds then the LP570 with more power and lighter weight should do it in 3 flat, don't you guys think? The SLS hits 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds I think but not sure. And since it weighs probably a good 400 or 500 lbs less than an SLS, the performance gap should only widen as the speed increases. Now when AMG drops the new 5.5 liter direct-injection twin-turbo V-8 in there next year or so, it'll probably make a good 600 HP with almost 700 lb/ft of torque, and with an LSD and the dual-clutch transmission in it, it should smoke even the new Ferrari 458 Italia. Even more interesting will be in 2012 when Lamborghini comes out with their all-new design Gallardo, which for sure will have well over 600 HP with even less weight and better dynamics/technology. Also Ferrari will then release sometime later the 458 Italia Scuderia which will obviously be amazing in every way.
The power wars and sports car wars are far from over it seems
