http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hBWVWbQZ4A
Welcome to Froglet the worlds first (as far as we know) Smart City Coupe with a 2ltr Toyota MR2 engine and gearbox. We have built it as a hillclimb car for the British Midland Hillclimbs.
Cheers

Agreed!!!!!
That's the same mindset I have when I go head first into many of my projects. I like it. What kind of hill climb? When I think of that- I think of dirt bikes or other off road vehicles climbing a near vert. hill of some sort.

Thanks, you have to think out side of the box from time to time.
Our hillclimbs are speed tarmac events with classes from road going cars to almost F1. Some venues are only 1000 yards and against the clock. The oldest historic venue is Shelsley Walsh which is the oldest motorsport event in the world still on the same track and originates from 1905. The only change is the surface is now (tarmac) rather than the original dirt/gravel.
This link might explain it better

What kind of project are you into?

Excellent Pagag! Do you think you could post more info and videos here? I'm very much interested in Mercedes racing heritage and I really appreciate the vision you have had to make a hillclimb vehicle out of something as "weak" as a Smart. That is just very cool! I'm a huge fan of the Suzuki Escudo hillclimb car, my god. Also the Judd V8 190e DTM made a fantastic hillclimb vehichle as well.
