Suggestion
i pm'ed ricky this suggestion.
ive been visiting other forums lately and they have "other" or "exotics" for other cars. mb owners are likely the ones who have the most weekend/track cars, why cant we have a "other" forum?
it will increase membership, clean up off topic, and make it easier for people with "other" cars. every time i wanna post something here about my car i gotta do it in off topic, there are so many replies within like 10 min. to other threads that mine quickly gets "lost" b/c not many people in off topic wanna talk cars.
can we have an "other" forum, please?

Vadim does have a point. Off-topic is pretty off-topic from car talk in general. A "General Garage" forum or some sort would work nicely.
With that being said, Ricky can only bring it up to the other mods. Whether it gets approved is not up to him.

Great idea! As an example, I'm heavily involved with other cars as well and would have never joined if we didn't pick up the Mercedes (just started warming up to the euros). I'm sure there are lots of lurkers here who feel out of place, so it will increase their membership at the very least.
We should officially name Ricky as the Ambassador

Ironically "Suggestions & Feedback" is the least-read forum (by mods) at MBW
If you do a search here, you'll find a thread from maybe 3 to 6 months ago about perhaps having a forum re: older Benzes (W123, W116, etc.). At the beginning Ricky asked for more info on the W123, people chimed in with info, but then nothing happened (we never got any kind of answer)...

Let's say we create an "Other Cars" forum. Where would members post their threads about other cars? In Off Topic, because, like the suggestion forum, no one will read the "Other Car" forum. Granted, an "Other Cars" forum would be more car-related that OT, but as a practical matter, members post where their threads are more likely to be read, leaving staff to then move them to the appropriate place. Some forums never gain any traction with members. We have more than a few at MBWorld.
This is just my opinion, the owners of the site decide when forums are added, and they like to do so sparingly.
