Regional Forums?

*Edit* I had forgotten about the Events forum... sorry. But I still think regional information would be beneficial instead of hunting it down..... [/edit]

First and foremost, the forum is great. I appreciate the work that you have all put into maintainning this. Sometimes trying to get certain information requires a roll of the dice for local members to answer.

Has anybody brought up or thought of a section classified by regions?

It would be easier to spread the word across all the various MB owners regarding news and events, and even perhaps info that differs regionally. At the moment if I want to spread the word to Canadians, or if someone wants to spread the word to people in California, you would need to post across the board.... or in the "General Discussion" and hope most members reads that particular section. Other info such as emissions control, insurance, law... etc, would be State, and country specific. Also, it would be easier to arrange events and meet and greets with new local members.

I'm not saying that everything needs to be geographically detailed, more like below for example:

West Coast
Mid West
East Coast
Canada
Australia
Europe
Asia
Europe

I think it would increase the exposure amungst local areas as well as bring the members board closer together. I know there are already cliques and groups of members that know one another, but that is usually within the larger areas like: LA, San Fran, New York, Chicago, Miami... etc. I don't know if the guys in Denver or Kansas get together or anything, but it would be nice to say "Hey let's do a meet and greet" and not have to post it across the boards for smaller areas like Des Moines Idaho or something like that. This is something I thought about that would make getting together and meeting the other MB owners out there.... just a thought.

Thanks for the feedback. We will certainly discuss this internally. To date we have been against regional forums as it adds so much more overhead to the site. But we are always open to suggestions and will re-evaluate our decisions as needed.
