Explanation of steering ratios
Hi,
I was looking through the forum tonight and was looking for a way to make the steering on my 300E quicker. Some guy was selling a Sportline steering box and described the ratios as follows:
Ratio 14.6-16.1 = Coupe standard box
Ratio 13.9-15.3 = Sedan & cabrio standard box, coupe Sportline
Ratio 13.3-14.6 = Sedan & cabrio Sportline box
So, I went poking around and found that if the ratio is 13.3 then that means that if you turn the steering wheel 360 deg., then the wheels will turn 27deg. Fair enough! Why does his description provide a range? Are these things adjustable or something??
