Mercedes Part Number 2203270215: Active Body Control Reservoir, also known as ABC Hydraulic Accumulator/Damper. Brand new, never used or handled (no box). I sold the car but kept this extra one.
Used on many MB models, from 2000 to 2009, W215/W216/W220/W221/W230 (CL/SL/S etc) and all others with ABC hydraulic suspension.
Usually responsible for "droning or whining noise" below 2000 rpm, see attached MB service bulletin. You may think it's your pump or alternator etc, but 2-1 it's this simple part.
Easily replaced - remove the under-belly pan (a few screws) and it is plainly visible. On W215 (CL500 etc) it is just inboard of the right-front wheel well (52A in diagram). For other cars it may be in another location, but is easily accessible at the front of the car. This part number might also be used for the REAR damper on other ABC-equipped cars.
