Chassis number and VIN number discrepancy
Hi
Recently I am about to acquire an used G63 from at a private owner.
But I found the chassis number stamped on the chassis behind the front left side wheel and the VIN number printed on the windshield and the driver's door side are different. The
difference is some letters missing or showed up while the other one has it. The ones from the windshield and door side are the same.
And I am sure the car wasn't involved in any accident.
Since we run a inspection.
The inspection garage this happened to some G55 or G63 they seen it before.
And the official dealer which sold the car told me the one from the windshield is correct. The one on the chassis is not.
I've other G63 in the showroom but the numbers are all the some from both locations.
So I am bit of confused.
I attached the picture of the numbers form both location.
Does anyone can clear this for me?
