Turbodiesel swapped Jeep Wrangler
How to figure the Engine Year
ive got a 89 Jee Wrangler that’s swapped with a Mercedes in-line 5 turbo diesel . I’m starting to have fuel problems and want to change the filters to start off but I cannot figure out what the year of the motor is. All I have seen so far is numbers on the powersteering pump. Can someone help me decode them or let me know of other ways to find out?? Thank you

i believe engine should have vin, if you can find it then you have your year, alternatively posting picture can help to get closer. There are not too many turbo diesels that i have seen in US. 1st thing that comes to mind early 1990ss 300 models

Need more information.
engine displacement
post several clear well focused photos in good lighting
what vehicle model did the engine come from
when was the engine installed in the Jeep
what transmission is connected to the MB engine and the Jeep?
These are the choices:
Can you ask all of these questions to the person who did the engine swap, if it wasn’t yourself?

- OM602, 2.5 – 2.9 L (1985–2002)
- OM605, 2.5 L (1993–2001)
