How to fix command controller knob rotation problem. W204/W212/W218/R172/X204
Hi,
If you have problem with command controller knob rotation please read the solution. There is no reaction on the screen when rotating command knob and this is common problem with that kind of controller. All other functions of the knob (front/back/left/right move, press down) works perfectly. Manufacturer uses poor-quality plastic pin which transfers rotation of the knob to the controller. Damage is always a matter of time. As a result, knob rotates normally but there is no reaction on the screen.

In my car I had the same problem that I solved by designing and manufacturing a metal pin in place of the faulty one. I offer the purchase of an aluminum pin and give a lifetime warranty. You can find an offer on ebay:

When exchanging the pin, I used the tutorials found on the youtube but unfortunately the informations were incomplete with mistakes included, which resulted in breaking some elements in my controller. Because of that fact I have prepared full tutorial on how to remove the controller from the car, and replace the pin:
