1995 SL500 difficulty starting
I have a 1995 SL 500. It seems whenever I leave my home, it starts and runs okay most every time. But if I drive as little as 3 to 4 miles and park for a quick lunch, it usually will not restart again without great difficulty! If and when it eventually does start after 15 to 20 attempts, it runs extremely rough assist its misfiring a couple cylinders. I usually take off anyway keeping my fingers crossed that it will die on me on the highway and it usually fires off very smoothly once I really hit the gas and go!
I took it into the mechanics shop but as usual, it's running great there and so they were unable to diagnose the problem.
Any ideas what is happening? I'm afraid my days are getting numbered that they will come when it simply won't restart for me! I find myself, leaving the car idling outside during short stops, lunch etc.

if youre still having trouble with the SL try pulling the vacuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator its right on the top near the oil cap.IF your finger gets wet with fuel when u touch it to the steel tube on the regulator .. then its LEAKING fuel and flooding the engine ESPECFIALLY when driven just enough to warm up tjhe fuel and pressurize the fuel tank even justa little bit... ive seen this problem stump many techs
