2007 c230
2007 c230 subwoofer location.

Hi all, I am glad to be a new member for this forum. I recently got an 2007 c230, it came with the basic sound sistem and now I want to upgrade. The car has a space for the factory subwoofer in the rear deck when you purchase the Harman Kardon sistem, that is not an option for me because I have a 12inch sub.

So here is the problem. Every where I go they try to get me to pay for a costume made sub enclosure. They say I have to open a hole in the rear deck and have the enclosure port attached to this hole so the base comes in the car.

It makes sence, but I dont want to spend $300 on that when I can get a nice regular sub box for $60. if I just put the box in the trunk, will it still sound nice?

does anybody has it this way?

I am not going to compete, but I still want to feel a nice base.

I was thinking maybe getting the regular enclosure box and removing the foam from the rear deck to see if i can use the deck as a air port for the base to go in the car.

Has anybody done this before??

please I could use any advise.

Thank you!!
