My recommendation for a local plating company

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to give a shout out for a local plating company that I just did some business with.

I had my OEM rotors for my Mercedes SLK55 AMG zinc plated and they did an awesome job. They only charged me $45.00

If you have anything that needs to be plated give them a call.

The OEM rotors come from the factory with a cold galvanizing spray coating on them which does not hold up all that well and eventually starts to rust through. Now they are fully protected

Here is the company info:

Gleco Plating
2220 Grisham Dr. Rowlett, TX 75088
Phone: 972.475.4300

Ask for Mike Ray, the general manager.

Here are some before and after photos:

Isn't Zinc plating only there for some corrosive resistance, won't it come off when you apply the brakes since it's only plating?

Yep but only where the brake pad makes contact.
