Is Mexico safe and secure?

I'm about to do some travelling and am selecting destinations. TV news says the fentanyl dealing cartels have taken over and the border is like a war zone. In contrast Egypt is now touted as a safe destination for tourists. So I decided to watch some youtube videos to try and discern what's real and what isn't:

No cops, no taffic signs, no problems!

Lots of undercover cops, lots of signs, lot of rules and regulations to keep me safe and secure.

Whatever you seek you will find.

You went seeking crime and scary stuff on the internet. You found it. Are you surprised?

I have no concerns traveling to Mexico. I advise against you traveling there because of your concerns. You will likely not have an enjoyable time. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Youtube are not exactly reality video's either. There are thuggs everywhere, as there are kind, considerate people. Latino's are some of the most hospitable people on earth.

I would rather be in Mexico than in Chicago, Seattle, Portland, any city in California or Iran. At least where I live now (I fled Illinois) we have the right to carry pretty much what ever gun we would like.....and we do (including in our medical facilities).

Youtube isn't really a source and neither is the internet. The former is a platform and the latter is a medium. In any case, I trust free citizen journalists more than corporate paid journalists, regardless of what method they use to transmit their informaion.

I lived in Mexico for a while in 2013 and there were strange things going on even then. Contrary to the stuff on TV though it was the Federal Government in Mexico making a lot of people disappear, not the so-called "cartels" (like OPEC+, which includes PEMEX by the way).

Does any of that happen in the United States?

Nah, if someone says a 747 can skim feet above the ground at 500 MPH and slam into the bottom floor of the Pentagon, don't let things like the physcics of the "ground cushion effect" being relative to wingspan bother you too much. I'm sure the passengers on flight 77 couldn't believe they were being hearded into a hanger to be machine gunned down by their own "government" (corporate state). Only people who go looking for trouble find it.

Crito - heck, in the United States you can be invited into a public building by a deputized citizen wearing a uniform...and then be given a prison sentence 400% greater than what is considered proper for the "crime"....Der Furor would be so proud.

Well I just want all the tourists coming to NYC to return some of my tax dollars we sent them in foreign aid to know that they'll be just as safe and secure here as in Egypt. From the corporate horse's mouth (TV news):

I'd feel safer on the Turkish side than the Greek side of Cyprus. Turks don't allow democratically elected officials to be assasinated by terrorists:

We did not venture to that side...the chalk beaches were amazing, plus we got a roof top suite for a week for about $40/night US. We spent a week there for less than it would have cost to fly from Greece to Orlando. Including a flight from London to Orlando....
