New vehicle sale issue. Advice needed please
First time posting here and unfortunately its not a happy post and i would like some suggestions. sorry for the length.
2 months ago, my GF leased her 3rd c300 (2013) model from the same dealership (located in NJ). Her original 2010 model had the 18 inch AMG wheels and since the new ones did not have the AMG wheels, we decided to swap the wheels from the old car to the new one with one exception. We were promised to have NEW tires put on the old rims since that was the deciding factor for this sale. We stuck around the dealership until very late to finish the deal and since they put tire shine, everything looked NEW!
Fast forward 2 months later, my GF ran into a pothole and decided to take the car in for service since there is shimmy above 60 mph. To her surprise, the service advisor told her to get new tires put on to the tune of $1100 since they seem to be at the 40k mile range. Currently she has 2k miles on the new car and had 32k on the old one. So apparently, they pulled a cover over our eyes that night by promising new tires put on the old wheels w/o actually delivering on that promise. We met with multiple managers and all said the same thing, since nothing was written on paper stating that the dealership owed us new tires, there is nothing they will do for us. Not can, but will. But the fact is that nothing was suppose to be on that paper since we were to have new tires put on the car at the POS.
At this point, the manager who sold us the car was recently let go for unknown reasons, the sales person is still there and none of the other managers are willing to help. We stayed at the dealership yesterday for over 5 hours until 830 PM demanding to see the sales manager whom did not want to meet us until he realized we were not going to leave. Before leaving the dealership he promised to look into the situation and give us a call by EOD today (saturday). 6PM came and gone, w/o a call.
We feel that this is very unfair to lie to a customer to close a deal knowing they might put the client in danger for making her believe she is driving on brand new tires when they already have over 32k miles on them. We would like some suggestions from the rest of the group. What would you guys do? Any input is appreciated.
