The Gold Coast Concours/Bimmerstock charity event - Thousands of spectators lined the streets of the City of Glen Cove at the Gold Coast Concours/Bimmerstock event on Sunday, September 14, to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute (www.diabetesresearch.org).
As the engines roared and the colorful parade of exotic cars came into town, the excitement of the community soared. In all, more than 650 exotic cars, including Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Porsche's and a wide variety of BMW's were showcased in this normally quiet enclave as the 6th Annual Gold Coast Concours /Bimmerstock sprang to life. Working together with local officials, Co-chairpersons Joe LaPadula and Jon Holzer of Martino Auto Concepts/Exotics4Life.com, Presenting Sponsor, and their team closed the streets of Glen Cove to traffic and opened them to the most exciting array of custom automobiles on the east coast. Thousands of viewers enjoyed strolling among some of the world's most beautiful and luxurious cars throughout the day. There was a great electricity and excitement in the air as auto aficionados and car lovers gathered to admire the array of exotics.
"We are pleased to report $75,000 was raised for the cure-focused research of the Diabetes Research Institute this year, with a total of $338,000 over the years. This event has grown into one of the largest automobile shows on the eastern seaboard," said Joe LaPadula. "It attracts sponsors, vendors and car enthusiasts from around the country, plus since the funds raised go directly to the DRI, we know that everything we do helps fund the effort to find a cure for diabetes. I sincerely appreciate everyone's help in making this year's event such an amazing success.
