The change to the NY tint law is being grossly misreported. No, tinting is not illegal, any more than it was in 2016. In NY, you can't tint the windshield. The windows that can be tinted must permit 70% light passage. That was last year, that's this year too. The ONLY change in the law is that as part of yearly DMV inspection, if your tint is too dark, you won't pass inspection. Your tint will be tested

Everyone should still sign this. Tint is not an inspection issue. Tired of rights being taken.

Kind of think the state does have a right to determine if your car is in compliance with legislation.

If tint isn't an inspection issue, is it really much different to say emissions isn't an inspection issue?

All that said, I think the tint law is a tad heavy handed. The remedy is new legislation
