VITO 115 A/C PROBLEM

Hi Guys,

My 115 Vito's A/C stopped effective cooling whilst on leave, there are limited technicians in the area I am visiting, and those that are have no experience with the vehicle. We have day temps of 40-45° and no A/C with small kids is a mare! Took it through to the closest agents after waiting the whole day they offered to replace the compressor, expantion valve and receiver bottle (drier) at a cost of $3500.00 ... the problem is that the condensor / auxillary fans are not coming on, we have tested the fans and they are 100% functional but somewhere there is a sensor or relay that is not energizing the fans....any suggestions???

The fans will only come on when there is high temp/high pressure at the condensor. If the system is low on gas then the fans won't come on.

Was the system diagnosed with a leak? Unless there is a leak or the compressor has seized then you won't need a compressor

I have just collected the vehicle from the agents where I always service, system was evacuated, vacuum drawn and recharged. The unit is 100% functional and the cost was less than $150.00 including labour?????????? What really drives me mad is the agents that I took it to when I was on leave wanted $3500.00 and where still not sure if that would solve the problem????? That is a rip off second to none!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
