Vito 119
Exclamation Vito 119 Intercooler design flaw

Minute damage to the old intercooler

New intercooler clearly exposed with no mesh to deflect/stop any debris

I had to replace a intercooler due to a piece of 5mm asphalt that hit the intercooler.
Upon closer inspection I saw that the intercooler fins are VERY soft yet the bumper intake does not have any grid like covering to prevent this from happening again.

Assuming that the safest option would be to install some form of wire mesh inside, not sure how hot this gets, want to avoid creating a fire hazard with a plastic mesh.
Secondly, it needs to allow for enough airflow but be small enough to deflect any objects entering the bottom bumper feeding holes.
Third, preferably a black mesh that will be invisible to the eye.

There is a black frame around the intecooler that could be used to keep the mesh in place. Wire ties?

Any advice would be appreciated
