Seat rail extension in boot (trunk), is it possible?

Hi again!

2nd post today :-)

So as mentioned in my other post I have just bought a V220d Extra Long. My other van is a V250d Extra Long. One thing I didn't realise is that whilst my V250d has the seven seat option (has the pilot chairs in the 2nd row) my new V220d is the eight seater which has an annoying snag in the design...

On the eight seater, only two of the floor rails that the seats slide in go all the way to the back but the inner two stop about 60cm from the rear of the vehicle, meaning that the seats can't slide all the way to the back (useful for legroom on long journeys). On my seven-seat V250d all four floor rails run all the way to the back door / tailgate / trunk lid.

There is no mention of this being an option / configuration on the MB website, nothing in the manual, doesn't reference it in the brochure and the local dealer is clueless. Why even have just two of the four rails run to the back door?

So...

Is it possible to modify the floor rails to extend them all the way to the back? Has anyone got experience of this I can't find anything about this online? Otherwise, with 6 adults in the back it's going to be 'cozy'.

Help appreciated.

Sandy

Hi did you find a solution for this problem I am dealing with this issue myself. Did you get different rails fitted?
