Has anyone swapped a Metris (tilt only) steering column for a Vito/Viano/V Class (tilt AND telescope) steering column? It looks the same as the GLA 250, which I can get easily here in the US, and everything appears to line up, but I wanted to check before I spend the money and get the parts.
It's a been a while, but I sourced a vito/v-class telescoping column from UK and some trim parts from DE.
Everything went together fine, except I need a different retainer plate that sits under the steering column. I spoke with someone in parts department at a MB dealer and service center in Germany, but we weren't able to get it figured out. Does anyone know the PN for 447 van with telescoping column? I assume it is the same part for RHD and LHD models as the steering columns are the same.
I'm looking for the part circled in red in the picture below, part #19. For the tilt-only column, the PN is 447-689-02-11. I need the PN for the telescope and tilt column.
