vito w638 110d tick over rough

van started running rough on tick over when warm.. its fine on start up but when warm seams like its running uneven. also there is a clicking noise from under dashboard / glove box area sounds like relay clicking not sure if two things are linked or just coincidence ?? any ideas ??

The rough idle when warm could be related to a problem with the fuel or air delivery systems, such as a clogged fuel injector, a failing Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, or even a vacuum leak in the intake system. These could disturb the air-fuel mixture and cause uneven idling. As for the clicking noise from under the dashboard, it might indeed be a relay. Relays can sometimes click if they're failing or if there's an electrical issue, such as poor grounding affecting the relay circuits. This could be tied to the engine's rough idling if the relays are part of the engine management system. To diagnose these issues, I'd recommend checking the fault codes from the Engine Control Unit (ECU) and also inspecting the Body Control Module (BCM) for any errors that might relate to the electrical sound you described. Using a full system scanner like the youcanic can provide a full readout of all systems, helping you pinpoint the issue effectively. Using a basic scanner like the Ancel AD310 might limit you to engine codes only, potentially missing clues from other systems connected electronically. Have you checked for any visible vacuum leaks or obvious damage to the wiring under the dashboard that might explain the relay clicking?
