Opinion on a W210 E55
Hi Guys, I just need some inputs from those who had or have a E55 W210 platform. Since I am stepping up from my 96 E320 to a 00 or 01' E55. What should I be looking for, such as known problem or issues. Thanks, I wish I really could afford a W211 E55, they are really sexy, but the W210 body still nice.

Have you test driven a W210 E55? It's a world of difference from your E320 that's for sure. One of the known problem is the MAF. There's others but again that's one of the more common ones. Good luck!

I had a 1999 E55 AMG - and I want another one.
Make sure the transmission shifts well in all ranges - the clutches are known to go out in some cases I think. I never had it happen to mine, however.

2004 GT3 and 2002 E55
Obviously a PPI is a must. If it's clean you should be fine.
We bought an '02 E55 in December and it is an absolute pleasure to drive. Fast, solid and the w210 body is classic looking in my opinion.
