Front licence plate mount

Does anyone have a front licence plate mount to sell me for a 1999 E55. For those of you in states that do not require a front licence plate, I thing the mount is in the trunk somewhere. When I bought my (used) CLK there was one in the trunk, but the E55 does not have one.

Thanks,
Sean

Don't put a front plate on! I've gotten one front plate ticket from a piggy who was just out to get me because of my car. It's $62.50 here, so I figure I've been driving without a plate for 9 years, or $6.94 per year. Not a bad "fee" for the looks that suffer when a front plate is on the car.

I figure I'd pay $25/year for some type of front plate waiver, so I'm actually paying less then I would if a yearly fee was involved.

i agree - odds are you will not get pulled over just for that. they may "add" that on when they pull you over for speeding

i say take the risk, its makes the car look so much cleaner without it.

I hear ya, but I would rather not give them a reason to pull me over.

Consider this. I was pulled over for speeding for 50 in a 35. He was using laser, so there was no question about the accuracy. As he was writing up the ticket, he walked around to the front of the car. I thought that I was going to get a second ticket for no front license plate. He returned to my window and and said that since I had a good attitude he decided to give me a break. He did not give me a ticket for speeding and wrote me up only for the license plate. That was the best $80 I have ever spent. What are the odds of it happening again? Pretty slim, I would guess.

Same Story

The same thing happened to me. I got nailed coming over a hill with instant on. He got me for 56 in a 40. When he realized that I didn't have a front plate he said he was going to cut me a break and just write me for "improper placement of a license plate". That ticket was $45 intead of $145 plus points for speeding. I say keep the front plate off and enjoy the car.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, with my luck, the opposite will happen. I'll get pulled over for not having a front plate, and one of my friends or myself will end up i jail, for something unrelated... :v Anyway, the dealer gets $130.00 for them, and I can't find one elsewhere.

Oh, and i am kinda stupid anyway because the last time I was pulled over for speeding I was passing (three cars at once) on a two-lane at midnight, after they stopped me, I found out the lawyer I hired for a previous ticket (~100 in a 55) never showed up in court so my licence had been suspended. Anyway the police were very nice that evening and let my wife drive us home. I did get two tickets though, speeding and driving w/ suspensed licence. Cant imagine not having a front licence plate would have helped at all there.

The next week I proceeded to drive while my licence was still suspended. These are the types of things I do...
