Average Non-Ebay Auction Prices for w210 E55?

Does anyone have access to what W210 E55's are going for in the dealer auctions?

I have started looking at these lately and wanted to get a better idea on what they go for on the auction block.

Thanks

2002 E55
4 months ago in Anheim PA (large auction location) there was a 2002 E55 with 45K on the clock, fully loaded, Nav, Xenon etc that went for $28,000.00. Yup, you read that correctly. The car then went to a private lot in Florida where I followed it and I purchased it for a great price. Once I had it in my possesion I had a local private dealer offer me $38,500.00. When I brought it in for a scheduled service the CPO sales manager told me they (MBUSA) could easily get $44,000.00 w/o any haggling from an informed customer. I am very happy with my car and have no intentions of selling it, this was just a nice sequence of events that made me feel great about my purchase.

I just traded mine in. Spoke to a dealer friend of mine beforehand who confirmed that they are going for mid-20s at auction. an 01 or 02 with lower mileage will bring high 20s.

Here in California, an 00 E55 with 40K miles wholesales for $31.1K. Fortunately, I just purchased the above mentioned yesterday on Ebay for $25.5K.

Yeah, if you have access to dealer's auction and have time, you could make easy money over there.... I did it once 2 years ago..... flipped a W210 E55 w/ 31K but no options.... found one at riverside auto auction for $31K and sold it to private owner for $42K in 2 weeks.

I certainly could use this access to get nice cars w/o making me broke.... but the problem is I don't have any time to go to dealer's auction... weekdays daytime

I wouldn't say wholesale.... I think it would be trade-in's (dealer's offer to end consumers who's about to buy another car from them). For wholesale price (delaer's offer to another dealer w/ or w/o exchange), see above....

I think I could get between $28K-$31K for mine ('01 w/ 67K miles) if I just go directly to dealers and purchase a car from them. Yours would be about the same given lower mileage - assuming condition and options are the same.

About right if you traded it in. I'm looking to get 36-38K on a private sale for my '02 with every possible option and practically new condition. Also has about 10K in extras, so I would think an average 2002 with no extras should bring 33-34K on a private sale. The range varies wildly. I still see '02's on dealer lots for almost 50K!!!

When selling a car or getting a quote from a dealer, remember, they will say anything to get you to come in, even quoting a high "purchase" price.

They have access to used car values, black books, auction prices, so there's no way you have more information than them. At best, you're at equal footing.

And lastly, most dealers (except for Carmax) will not purchase your car outright. They are looking for you to trade in. So they will offer you a high price, but charge you MSRP (or more) on a new vehicle.

Point well taken. Nonetheless, it appears I did alright with my $25.5K purchase. For once, I don't feel ripped off.
