Engine covers
Can anyone direct me to a site where I can find an engine cover for a 2000
E55? The star on mine is starting to come off...and lets face it, that's no good.
So any help with that I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

Bump
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement star for the engine cover? Do they sell the mounting clips on their own? Part numbers?
I just bought a CF engine cover to replace my cracked OEM cover but the CF one does not have the emblems nor the clips.
TIA.

I'm trying my best to use the old clips though but they're not complete and some are broken beyond salvage. Any pointers on getting new clips to use with the CF engine cover?
Thanks, I was looking at my old cover earlier. I'll just reuse the old star and AMG logo. The old fishing line/dental floss method and new adhesive should do it.

Half my Star is MIA... has anyone been able to purchase just the Star for the Engine Cover???
Thanks

If you look in search I think one of the trunk lid stars (c class) sells for like $10 are the same size as the engine cover star. I remember reading the thread a year ago. MB only sells the whole cover with star and AMG on cover.

What kind of adhesive glue should I use to keep this bad boy in place?

Super glue will hold it, but the next time you remove the cover it will flex and may break the bond with the super glue. Any glue that will flex will probably also melt from the heat, so you're in a bit of a catch 22. You could try epoxy, or just super glue it from time to time.

I measured, 85mm is correct for the engine cover emblem. The E class back emblem is curved to accommodate the trunk contour. This eBay ad appears to be what you need. It looks like it isn't curved. It also has the three notches, which it needs to fit the engine cover.
I'm sure there will be others looking for this info as well
Thank you!
