W210 integrated phone compatibility

My 2000 E55 has the integrated phone dock for the TDMA startac. I need a GSM version of a phone that is compatible with the built in dock connector. Can anyone tell me:

1. Is there a bluetooth adapter available to hook up a modern phone to the integrated phone system?
2. What models of modern phones are compatible with that connector? Motorola V60? Any GSM phone?

Does anyone still use the integrated phone from this generation E55? Thanks a lot.

I have converted the Timeport phone system in my 2002 E55 to the Mercedes bluetooth system to use with my/wife's Motorola E815 Verizon phones. If you want to use a non-Mercedes branded phone then you should go with the bluetooth route because it is the cheaper way to go. I had to change the PSE to the newest one which is bluetooth compatible, buy a Moto V60 cradle and the bluetooth module itself. The PSE will cost at least $250, V60 cradle should be less than $100 from Ebay and the bluetooth module is around $350(I paid $300 from my dealer). Do a search on audio forum and you should find all the necessary info for this project. Good luck.

WOW! I thought all 2002 W210 models had V60 phone. I did not know some had Timeport. Was 2002 the first year for the V60?

I need to upgrade my V60 to Bluetooth. Does that Bluetooth V60 Cradle Adapter work with all Bluetooth phones or do I have to buy a phone from MBZ dealer just like we had to buy the V60 from dealer to work with COMAND system? Thanks.

My 2001 had a V60 in it, previous owner kept the phone but I have the cradle in it. I'd like to upgrade to bluetooth as well and unfortunately I've read some of the threads on it and can't make any sense as to what I may need to upgrade or buy in order to have the MB puck work with my current phone.
