finally AMG
i'm officially in the AMG club now.
after searching high and low for the past year itching to get something different than my current wagon...and looking at S500/S55/CL's/S600's etc...i finally found a 2-owner 2001 E55 that i found was perfect.
overall, i found the S class to be very majestic but w/ little steering feel. the CL's drove great, but 2 doors is not too practical. the S600 (especially the twin turbo) was addicting...i was soooo close to stepping up to the plate. after thinking about the potential repair bills, i got pretty scared away.
...so that left me w/ the E55's.
i test drove it last wknd, and after checking out the VMI for all previously covered service items and reviewing current repair records with an MB service advisors...i met the guy today at the bank and got the car.
i dropped him off at his house and had a 30 mile drive home (and got 22mpg)...my smile was ear to ear

looking forward to opening it up a bit soon.
To answer your question in your first thread: Yes, you have been informed correctly. MBZ rotors cannot be turned. Replacement is necessary when they are below spec. Mercedes brake theory is to have the rotors wear with the brake pads which means they need to replaced more often then other manufacturers.

I hope the car came certified or has some type of warrenty... Very risky owning an AMG without warrenty... Congrats tho! Lets see some pictures bro!
