straight pipes on an NA 55 motor
what type of sound would this produce? This is for my ML, but you E55 guys seem to know the most about modding and am wondering if any of the W210 guys have done it.
Catalytic converters would continue to be used in order to keep with State emessions. In the past I have heard a 350 with no muffler/resonator but it wasnt at all loud, kinda raspy as a matter of fact. In no means am I comparing a V8 to a 6 but I was suprised at the lack of volume.
Would all back pressure be elimintated taking out the muffler? Would it generate a drone at high way speeds?

The ML55s dont really have after market exhuasts and my resonator has already been deleted, and factory muffler cut off... there is another muffler in its place now... this was done by the first owner...
