ecu chip
Has anyope here chipped or flashed their ECU ? my question is did u noticed a diff? I want to get rid of the lag (2-3 secs) when u hit the gas pedal to the reaction of the car. And does it do anything to the computer to leave it in aggresive mode? what i mean by that is when i drive like 100 miles stepping on it the car for the next few days is like hes on steroids ..after that after commuting for a few days it goes down to just a ***** cat. I have 00 e55. And what company you guys recommend.

Many E55 W210 owners and past owners have had no luck with power increase by using a performance chip. They say waste of time and money. Try headers and pulleys that’s it for power these motors are maxed out and a supercharger or NOS is the only gain you will see real power change. I'm in the same boat as you with my E55 W210. Try resetting your ECU every week it does help the computer relearn your driving style.

No, and any ECU upgrade is going to be expensive and give very little gain. The only thing that will really wake up a W210 is NOS or FI. If you want better throttle response, some people like the Sprint Booster although it does not increase performance at all, it just changes response.

honestly... its a waste of time. You are MUCH better off doing X-pipe. I dyno proved the gains, they are there and everyone who has done it per my recomendation has loved it. Do the X-pipe instead.
Seems like what you really want is that modification that u do to the pedal sensor switch to decrease lag time (i forget the name).

Supercharger is going to cost $14,000 + If your going to keep your E55 a long time then do it now, if not do other little mods and buy a higher HP car next time around.

I am going by experience and not by what I've heard people say.
I had many folks tell me that the 5.5L motor would not wrk in my car ,then month's later I put it in,had the ECU reprogrammed, and this thing runs like a monster.

I've had my ECU custom programmed as did C558mo by Superchips and we've noticed a big difference in bottom end Tq and midrange. PTE has had the same results with the Kleemann ECU upgrade. The exhaust mods and and Green filters definitely will enhance the ECU mod!

Did they program your car in CA? I hear that is the best way these chips even work. I live in Miami, FL and will not ship my car out for this tuning due to no big power gain 10HP is not worth it. I am enjoying the power the car has and when I want real power it's the race car for me.

I don't know what these guys are thinking, but from EXPERIENCE with my '02, the exhaust mods will give nearly nothing. The X-pipe is worth maybe 3-5 HP. It was absolutely worthless on my car, there was no repeatable gain, just more noise. It will not do as much as a modified ECU, and that isn't saying much, maybe another 10-15 HP. Everything short of a blower or nitrous INCLUDING the ECU, pulleys, X-pipe, air box (the expensive dyno tested *****, not somebody's untested home made CAI crap) COMBINED won't amount to a 40 RWHP gain. Ain't going to happen. It will however, add up to about 1/3 the cost of a Kleemann or Renntech FI system. I agree with samas, show me the dynos.

Well, I don't really see why you would need much more horsepower. I think these car have enough. Of course I wouldn't mind having the 2003 or newer. There isn't much out there faster than W210. My engine is completely stock and I plan to keep it that way. But if you really want horsepower (lets face it we all do) than wait save your money and buy a newer E55. This is what I am trying to do.

I've owned both. For what it's worth, I prefer the the 210. Fast enough without the high cost of all around ownership and not getting whacked with heavy depreciation at resale.
