![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Just bought a 1999 E55 and wanted to add H & R Springs. Anyone like or dislike them? Also has anyone changed the exhaust and was impressed by it?

I have H&R I like them ( you might need camber kit ) no reason of changing AMG exhaust since is free flow... if you want more sound do resonator delete olso you can x pipe mode at the same time ... hope it helps enjoy your car

Thanks for the pictures. What is the purpose of puting the X pipe in? And does it make it louder or give more HP? If I leave the stock AMG muffler and just take out the resonators, how loud is it when you are crusing on the freeway and not getting on it? Because I kind of like the quietness on long drives.
Thanks
Raffi

Hey guys, I like my exhaust note, comparing to stright pipes it's not louder but it does sound a bit different, I have video taken I might posted for you to hear it ... hp gains... I don't want to speculate on this, because I don't have dynos or track times before and after... I did dyno after x pipe if it helps and numbers were 320 RWHP and 321 RWTQ on DynoJet wich you know TQ reading is not accurate due to not able measure TQ on low rpms, hope it helps ... It's kind a hard to answer , what is good for one might not be good for another ...
P.S. the purpose of X pipe is to equolize exhaust pressure on each side of the engine, also HP gains are expected ...

Hey thanks Samas for the pictures and info about the X pipe. I ordered it today. I will take the picture of your set up to a muffler shop and see if they can dupicate it.

Hey Guys,
I just did the x-pipe and removed the resonator. It sound a little louder. Do you know if the ECU has to readjust? I am not sure about HP. Hard to tell.

Hello SaMas,
I did the delete resonator and Xpipe.
I like the sound. Kind of reminds me of a vette sound. Triing to get my H & Rs put in as well. Do you know what # pads you used. The way my car sits right now I only have about 1.3" gap, so I am thinking to leave whatever pad is in as is. Cause just the springs should bring the tires even with the fender. Right? Also do you have pictures of your car somewhere?
I did the delete resonator and Xpipe.

Raffi, check out the pic in my sig. It's a bit hard to tell but I'm sitting on stock suspension and #1 pads. I originally had #3's but switched them out in my garage the other night (I have a spring compressor) and it lowered about a 1/2". If you're going to switch springs make sure to switch shocks as well because the stock shocks will bottom out with shorter springs. If you pick up your suspension I will do the swap out for you a lot cheaper than any suspension or wheel shop, just let me know. By the way, I had H&R sport springs and Bilstein Sport shocks on my last W210 and the ride was great!

So if I do H & Rs with #1pad F & B it will be good.
I have a buddy with a tire shop and I am going to do the whole thing there. Thanks for the offer I will keep it in mind. Do you think I have #3 Pads with the Stock set up. Cause like I said I only have 1.3 Gap as it is.

These are spring pads that come in different thicknesses (#1 being the smallest) that sit on top of the spring. You can change the height of the car by changing the thickness of the spring pad...
